Individual panels to create a plastic shed base of any size
Why choose to use such a difficult and labour intensive method such as concrete or paving slabs when creating a base, why not instead use our easy to install, weather proof, no-rot, incredibly strong and permeable shed bases!
Our individual 330mm x 330mm recycled plastic, interlocking shed base panels can be used to create a full foundation or used as an add on to an existing plastic shed base to create a base of any size or shape dependent on your needs.
What Are The Benefits Of Using A Shed Base?
Manufactured in the UK from 100% recycled polyolefin our plastic bases have been engineered as a lightweight, durable and weatherproof shed base system. Environmentally the plastic shed base is one of the best, made in the UK from 100% recycled plastics it is kinder to the environment than other imported competitors and compared to concrete options.
Each panel weighs in at just 0.57kgs each, and because it is light does not mean it is weak. The round cell design without any straight lines means that it is one of the strongest plastic shed base panels on the market. Tested unfilled to 420 tonnes load-bearing capacity per square metre, the shed base panel is able to support all types and sizes of sheds, greenhouses, log cabins, summerhouse and more. Our bases are very easy to install too thanks to the specially designed slot and peg system which when paired with its lightweight frame, takes no time at all to lay.
The weather can play a large part in the life of a shed or other garden building so you shouldn’t have to worry about your base not lasting as long as your shed. That is why all of our shed bases are UV stabilised, resistant to erosion, able to withstand temperatures in excess of 50 degree C (far hotter than the UK summer), UV stabilised and are fully permeable, meaning any rain or other liquid can drain naturally away from your shed reducing the amount of stagnant surface water that could be absorbed by your shed and lead to rotting.

We recommend you prep underneath the grid with approximately 100mm of a compact hard base (type 1 or type 3), weed-suppressing membrane and then sand to level on top
What is the difference between compact hard base type 1 or type 3?
Compact hard base, type 1 goes to dust while the compact hard base, type 3 is larger and more permeable.
Do I need pegs?
Only areas that have a gradient over 12% need pegs.
How do I know which side to put down?
The bottom of the X-grid has ‘X-grid’ written on it, indicating the face you put on the ground.

The shed base is strong enough without gravel. The gravel can be used to compact and secure even more and for decorative use.
What size gravel/shingle/pea shingle should I use?
We recommend you use anything up to 20mm.
Can I put the grid straight onto grass or soil?
We recommend compact hard base or similar as it creates a sturdy, even base. Soil or grass can and most likely will absorb water creating an uneven base for your grid.

Yes, we recommend you use a fine tooth saw.
