Pins & Pegs

Our range of pins and pegs are used in conjunction with specific products to secure them in place or connect neighbouring items together

The range of pins and pegs we have in stock range from thick heavy duty galvanised steel u-pins to connecting pins used with rubber play tiles to anti-pull ground anchors used with x-grid and grass protection mesh. The main aim of these anchors is to secure our products in place by either connecting to other products or pinning them into the ground to ensure that movement is kept to an absolute minimum once the installation is complete.

What products can the pins and pegs used with?

Below are just a few examples of how our range of products are used in conjunction with our pins, pegs and anchors:

X-Grid

X-Grid does not usually require any sort of fixing when installed, however on steeper inclines it can be of benefit to use our X-Grid anti-pull anchor peg. The pegs are used to ensure the grid does not move or slide down the incline when walked on, driven on or just after a certain amount of time. The pegs are ribbed to make them anti-pull and difficult to accidentally remove.

Rubber Grass Mats

Rubber grass mats need to be secured into place otherwise they can move around quite a lot if experiencing heavy pedestrian traffic. To secure grass mats in place we recommend using 5 black fixing pegs per mat (one in each corner and one in the middle) and cable ties to connect neighbouring mats together which will to prevent any movement once installed.

Grass Protection Mesh

Grass protection mesh can be installed using a few different pins dependent on your needs. You can use a normal steel u-pin or you can take a look at our green coated u-pins that have been designed to blend in with the mesh and grass around it to make any GrassMesh installation as discreet as possible. Another option is the green anti-pull anchor peg, these are a great choice as the ribbed design means the pegs cannot be easily pulled up by heavy pedestrian or light machinery traffic as it needs to be twisted or worked free. The anti pull anchor pegs can then be paired with the white delineators which are used to tell users where to walk, drive or park, to install them simply place them into the top of anchor pegs.

Grass Reinforcement Mesh

Grass reinforcement mesh is secured into the grass and soil below using a couple of different pins and pegs. You can use an original smaller steel u-pin or you can take a look at our tough and robust 6 diameter steel u-pins that are the perfect pin for more demanding products such as the TurfMesh which has to withstand the weight of cars without pulling or moving. You may also use the green anti-pull anchor peg, which is a great anchor due to its ribbed design means the pegs cannot be easily pulled up by heavy vehicle or pedestrian traffic as it needs to be worked or twisted free. You can then pair these pegs with white delineators which are used to tell users on the mesh where to walk, drive or park and to install them you simply place them into the top of an anchor peg.

Membranes

All of our membranes are secured in place using mainly our smaller galvansied steel u-pins. These u-pins are used as they are small enough to be almost unnoticeable once installed but are strong enough to hold your membrane sheet in place and are easy to use.
